LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2025 – Knobbe Martens is pleased to share that partner Josue Villalta was recognized by Profiles in Leadership Journal’s 2025 Latino & Hispanic Leadership Awards. In a Q+A with the Leadership Journal, Mr. Villalta offered insight into the driving motivations behind his choice to practice intellectual property law.
Based in Knobbe Martens’ Los Angeles office, Mr. Villalta was compelled to pursue a career in IP law by his “desire to protect innovation and work with different technologies.” With a background in mechanical engineering, he worked as an engineer for several years before deciding to attend law school. In his Q+A, Mr. Villalta described the rewarding aspects of his career, such as helping inventors in the cleantech and medical device industries bring their life-changing products to market and working with start-up companies to secure the financing they need to grow.
Mr. Villalta also spoke to the value of mentorship in his career journey, saying “One of the most rewarding aspects of my job has been to teach and mentor new attorneys, cognizant that the mentoring I received as a new attorney was instrumental in helping me grow as an attorney at the firm.”
