Brian Flynn (San Diego): Flynn counsels clients in patent prosecution matters regarding a wide range of technologies in the medical device, clean technology, sporting goods, food and beverage, and electronics industries. He graduated with a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois and earned his J.D. from University of Illinois College of Law.
Cassie Gourash (Washington D.C.): Gourash’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation in a variety of technological fields, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical patent litigation arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Gourash graduated from Bucknell University with a B.S. in Neuroscience and earned her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.
Brian Graham (San Francisco): Graham advises clients with respect to establishing global patent portfolios and negotiating licenses. He has a particular focus on cutting edge machine learning techniques, with one example being applications for autonomous vehicles. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of California – Santa Barbara and holds a Master’s degree from Georgia Tech. He earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School, and in 2019 completed Professor Ng’s graduate-level ‘deep learning’ course at Stanford.
Mitch Hadley (New York): Hadley’s practice focuses on assisting clients of all sizes with developing and managing strategic IP portfolios, with a particular emphasis on all aspects of the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He has worked with a wide variety of technologies, including surgical robotics, medical devices, mechanical systems, and consumer products. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and earned his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Jr. Law School at Brigham Young University.
Jeremiah Helm, Ph.D. (Washington D.C.): Helm’s practice focuses on patent litigation in a variety of technological fields. He has specific expertise in appellate law, and has argued more than a dozen cases before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He earned a B.A. in Chemistry and Art History from Rice University, a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a doctorate in Chemistry from Princeton University.
Robert Hilton, Ph.D. (San Diego): Hilton, who holds a doctorate in biochemistry, counsels clients at all stages of the business life cycle in patent prosecution matters in the chemistry and life sciences space in the U.S. and globally. He graduated with a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University, and earned his J.D. from J. Reuben Clark Jr. Law School at Brigham Young University.
Zach (Jun Hyuk) Hong (New York): Hong advises clients on IP portfolio development, with a focus on U.S. and foreign patent and trademark procurement, strategic IP transactions, due diligence, and licensing. His clients include startup, emerging and established companies in the medical device, health IT, software, entertainment, fashion, and other industries. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Daniel Hughes (San Diego): Hughes’ practice focuses on patent litigation involving computer hardware, software, and medical devices, and his expertise also includes antitrust litigation, inter partes and ex parte reexaminations, and the management of large patent portfolios. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona and earned his J.D. from Arizona State University.
Alex Martinez (Orange County): Martinez advises clients on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of technology areas with a focus on computer/software, data processing, big data, artificial intelligence, and network monitoring and security systems. He graduated with a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of California – Berkeley and earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
Andrew Morrell, Ph.D. (Washington D.C.): Morrell, who holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology and a doctorate in Medicinal Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology, represents clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology industries in litigation and advises clients on a variety of patent-related issues. He earned his J.D. from George Mason University.
