In a Q+A with Law.com as part of the publication’s “How I Made Partner” series, partner Justin Culbertson, Ph.D. shared insight into his career journey and lessons learned on his path to partnership.
Dr. Culbertson, based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, shared how he was initially drawn to Knobbe Martens based on the wide range of partners with similar doctorial backgrounds in chemistry and biochemistry. He also spoke to the value of mentorship for young attorneys and how his own mentors at the firm contributed to his professional growth.
When asked his advice for associates looking to advance to partner, Dr. Culbertson offered several helpful recommendations for associates ranging from first-year to senior-level. As far as his own work mindset, he emphasized his focus on “continuous improvement, collaboration, and strategic thinking.” He added, “I aim to provide practical solutions that align with my clients’ business goals while maintaining the highest standards of legal excellence.”
