Overview
Lauren Katzenellenbogen litigates all types of intellectual property disputes, including claims pertaining to patents, trademarks, unfair competition, trade secrets and copyrights. For nearly two decades, she has represented clients in litigation involving an array of industries, including computer software, medical and mechanical devices, consumer products, fashion, energy drinks and entertainment.
With a practice that includes high-stakes patent litigation, trademark and counterfeiting claims, Lauren has served as counsel in numerous cases in federal courts across the U.S., as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). She has represented clients that range from innovative start-ups to established brands, including Oakley, Monster Energy, Tesla, NASCAR, Bon-Ton Stores, Razor, Volcom, Mexicana Airlines and I-Flow Corporation.
Lauren is Chair of the firm’s Consumer Products Litigation team. A focus on creative solutions, attention to detail and compelling arguments drives every action Lauren takes. Competitive by nature, Lauren’s personal drive to win allows her to consistently deliver potent strategies that position her client to succeed in and out of court.
Active in the community in which she lives and works, Lauren is a past-president of the Orange County Intellectual Property Law Association (OCIPLA) and is a past-chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Trademark Litigation Committee.

Successfully represented Virco Mfg. Corporation in enforcement of patents and trade dress against School Specialty, LLC. Obtained favorable settlement for Virco Mfg.
Pacific Packaging Concepts, Inc. v. Nutrisystem, Inc. (C.D. Cal. 2022).
Successfully enforced Pacific Packaging Concepts’ FRESH START trademark against Nutrisystem resulting in favorable settlement.
Virco Mfg. Corporation v. Mooreco, Inc. (W.D. Tex. 2020).
Successfully represented Virco Mfg. Corporation, America’s leading manufacturer and supplier of furniture and equipment for K-12 schools, in enforcement of design patent for desk design. Obtained favorable settlement for Virco Mfg.
Donald Robbins and Noah Daar v. Oakley, Inc. (C.D. Cal. 2018).
Defended Oakley against copyright infringement claims brought by graffiti artist after Oakley advertisement filmed in San Francisco inadvertently captured graffiti in the background.

Representing high performance powerboat manufacturer in trademark infringement action in federal district court in Riverside, California, successfully defeated defendants’ motion for summary judgment.
Alfa Leisure, Inc. v. King of the Road, 314 F.Supp. 2d 1010 (C.D. Cal. 2004).
Successfully represented owner of patent for fifth-wheel trailer chassis in federal district court in Riverside, California. Court granted summary judgment motion dismissing defendant’s inequitable conduct defense and vast majority of invalidity defenses.
