Scott’s experience includes cultivating global patent portfolios that align with his clients’ key services, strategic positioning for technology and license agreement negotiations, assessing and mitigating risk associated with integration of AI/ML technologies, assessing third party patent risk and implementing mitigation plans, conducting and preparing for financing and acquisitions IP diligence, developing FDA regulatory strategies and 510(k) filings in the medical device area, and managing open source software compliance risk. Scott has proven successful time and again in strategically navigating patent examination to satisfy new requirements resulting from recent Supreme Court cases pertaining to patent acquisition in the software space. He is sought out by clients and colleagues alike to manage patent portfolios of all sizes and complexities.

Appreciated for his ability to quickly understand even the most complicated and sophisticated technologies and products when applying the law to innovation, Scott demonstrates technical prowess in many disciplines. He is skilled in the areas of medical devices (including nerve mapping, pulse oximeters, respiration sensors, patient monitors, and other non-invasive medical diagnostics), medical software technologies, defense technologies, AI/ML technologies (including LLMs and Generative AI), big data and large scale modeling and analytics, cybersecurity technologies, mobile computing, network communication protocols, video and audio streaming, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, fintech, SaaS services, e-commerce, digital signal processing, electronics, IOT devices, and semiconductors.

Prior to law school, Scott researched and published in the field of algorithmic circuit synthesis. Scott also worked for a leading pure-play semiconductor foundry, Jazz Semiconductor, where he was involved in device model analysis and support.
