IRVINE, Calif., March 4, 2025 – Knobbe Martens is proud to announce that the firm and two partners have been named finalists in multiple categories at the inaugural Life Sciences Patent Network USA Awards.
The firm is a finalist for Life Sciences IP Litigation Firm of the Year, as well as for the Case of the Year/Impact Case award. In the latter category, the firm is shortlisted for its successful representation of Masimo in a dispute with Apple regarding certain Apple Watch models that were found to infringe Masimo’s patented pulse oximetry technology.
At the individual level, partner Salima Merani, who co-chairs the firm’s medical device group, is a finalist for the Patent Prosecutor of the Year Award, and partner Joseph Re is a finalist for the Patent Litigator of the Year Award.
According to LSPN, the awards recognize “excellence, innovation, and leadership in life sciences IP” and honor individuals and organizations who are “shaping the future of pharmaceutical and biotech patent protection.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Boston on May 6, 2025, following the first day of the LSPN North America–Spring conference.
This is the latest in a series of recognitions for Knobbe Martens’ notable life sciences work.
