The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office typically raises its fees every few years. However, this year the Office will implement a new category of fees for patent continuations with more senior priority. For mature patent portfolios, consider filing planned continuations by January 19th to avoid the new fee.

- New fees for applications that fail to include required information, for applications that include goods and services not described in the USPTO Acceptable Identification of Goods Manual( “ID Manual”), and for applications that include lengthy descriptions of goods and services
