Overview
Sara Witty joined the firm in 2022 and is an associate in the New York office. Her practice includes litigation and prosecution work for trademarks, trade dress, and copyrights.
While pursuing her J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School, Sara founded the school’s Entertainment, Media, and Arts Club, focusing on soft I.P. discussions. Throughout law school, Sara volunteered with Minnesota Lawyers for the Arts, where she helped attorneys answer local artists’ questions, and with Street Law, where she helped educate high schoolers on their legal rights. In her final year, Sara worked as a student director for the school’s Community Mediation Clinic and as a Teaching Assistant for the school’s LL.M. writing course.
Prior to pursuing her J.D., Sara received dual undergraduate degrees in English and Spanish, obtained a minor in Linguistics, and received her TESOL certification at Mississippi State University. Additionally, she worked for many years as a head shop carpenter and lighting technician in live theatre, performed as an improv comedian, and perfected her latte art as a barista at a specialty coffee shop.
