Overview
Ben represents clients in all types of high-stakes intellectual property disputes, with a focus on patent and trade secret litigation. Ben understands that every case, big or small, is an important case and takes the time to understand his clients’ goals, businesses, and technology.
Ben is a client focused advocate with experience working on computing, electronics, and medical device litigations, as well as copyright and trademark cases. Ben also assists representing clients before the Patent Office in inter partes reviews and ex parte reexaminations. Accordingly, Ben brings his experience and insights to bear to help guide clients between district court litigations and these often interrelated proceedings. Ben also guides responses to third-party subpoenas in an efficient and minimally disruptive manner.
With his litigation background, Ben is also well-positioned to advise clients prior to disputes. Ben helps clients minimize their infringement risk and strengthen their patent portfolios through directed prosecution.
Ben graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School. During law school, Ben engaged with the intellectual property and startup communities by serving as an editor of the Journal of Law and Technology and representing startups with the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship project.
Ben received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), graduating summa cum laude. Upon graduation Ben was honored with the Philip S. Biegler Memorial Award, which is given to the Electrical Engineering student with the highest graduating GPA. While at USC he served as a research assistant to Professor Eshaghian-Wilner.
Ben joined Knobbe Martens in 2019.
